Short: Powerful UnitConverter (re-upload)
Author: Maxime Gamboni (maxime@intelcom.ch)
Uploader: Maxime Gamboni (maxime@intelcom.ch)
Version: 2.5
Type: misc/math
Requires: MUI 3.1 or more; Os 3.x very recommended! (but not necessary)
Very powerful and complete Unit converter.
This is the version 2.5 of Convertor.
[I put the catalogs, a newer version of the translation files and
corrected some mistakes since last upload
There is also a little Installer script]
* It has a lot of new features and is faster (written in AmigaE
and no more with CanDo).
-> UnCompress in Ram, there is an Install script.
-> And please read the guide before running the program! Important things
are explained there.
Features:
---------
* Uses Mui! (All backdrops, fonts and so on are changeable)
* Units can be combined! (since v2.0)
E.g. you have 'Km/s' in the current unit field, you select the '*' button
and the 'Kg/h' unit and you get 'Kg*Km/(s*h)' you can then convert that
into Newtons!
* Units' name are editable! Write 'Kg^2/(m/s)/GJ' in the field and you can use it
at once!
* You can load/save UnitData files on disk (Registered version only, Convertor
is Giftware).
* Locale support
* Calculate the inverse of a unit. If you have 2 m/s^2 Convertor will give you
0.5 s^2/m.
* Temperature handling. If Convertor don't know if the temperature you gave
him are Levels (0°C is 273.15 K) or Differences (When the temperature raises
of 9°F, it is like if it raises of 5 °C), you can set it.
* Convertor can say you how to convert from a unit to another
e.g. if you have °C in the current Unit field and °F in the other, Convertor
will give you: 'multiply by 1.8 and add 32'
* Converting a unit into the SI equivalent. e.g if you have 38 calories,
Convertor will give you 159.0984 Kg*m^2/s^2
* Easy Unit edition: Drag a Unit field into a list, and a new composed unit
is added to that list. You want to create a new base unit? Drag a Value field
into a list and a new base unit is created! (E.g. write 48 in a Value field and
'yd/h' in its Unit field and drag this unit into a list, the program asks you
the name and it's finished, you have a new unit equal to 48 yd/h!)
